HB 4127 - RESTRICTS

Prohibits carrying a firearm within 100' of any polling place, early voting site, or ballot box. No exclusion for CPL-holders. 

Any early voting site or ballot box -- which may reside on any curb, inside any building or business -- will for 40 days leading up to the election have a 100' radius around it that can make any law-abiding concealed-carrier walking by guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail, guaranteeing suspension of his or her CPL.

Potential amendments supporting responsible concealed carry:

• Remove the CPL restriction altogether.
• Replace "possess" with "brandish", an action which is already illegal under Michigan law.
• Add a ballot box rule exemption for CPL holders.
